How Much Should a Website Cost in Nigeria? A Straight Answer

By Jonabby & Co. Enterprises · · 2 min read

Calculator and notebook

"How much for a website?" is one of the first questions every business owner asks us — and honestly, it's a hard one to answer in one sentence, because the range is huge. You can find websites in Nigeria for ₦20,000, and you can find them for millions. Here's what actually drives that difference.

Number of pages and features

A one-page site with your contact details costs far less than a multi-page site with a photo gallery, online store, and booking system. More pages and more functionality simply mean more work — that's the biggest single driver of price.

Custom design vs. a template

A site built on a generic template will always be cheaper than one designed specifically around your brand's colours, photos, and personality. Neither is "wrong" — it depends on your budget and how much your brand identity matters to your customers.

Who's actually building it

A student learning to code, a freelance developer, and an established web design company all charge differently — and for good reason: experience affects how fast the work gets done, how well it's tested, and what happens if something breaks after launch. The cheapest quote isn't always the cheapest in the long run.

What's included after launch

Some prices only cover the build — you're on your own for hosting, the domain name, and fixing issues afterward. Others include setup, guidance, and support. Always ask exactly what's included before comparing two quotes, because a "cheaper" price that excludes hosting setup can end up costing more once you add it all up.

A realistic starting point

For a small Nigerian business, a solid mobile-friendly starter website with a few pages and a WhatsApp contact button typically starts around ₦50,000, with more advanced sites (online stores, larger galleries, booking systems) ranging from ₦120,000 upward. Anything dramatically cheaper is usually cutting corners somewhere — often in design quality, mobile responsiveness, or what happens when you need support later.

The right question isn't "what's the cheapest option?" — it's "what does my business actually need, and what am I getting for the price?" We're always happy to walk you through it honestly, even if the answer is a smaller package than you expected.
